Weekend Action Shifts to Nakuru

Hockey Weekend action shifts to Nakuru. Nakuru Hockey Club will play host to the third edition of the Nakuru Open Hockey tournament at the Greensteds International School on 7th and 8th July 2018. The Annual fete has attracted a massive participation this year compared to the previous years.  Speaking to Magongo Kenya, Jacob Ngunjiri, the convener is confident that this year’s tournament is going to be highly competitive owing to the pedigree of teams that have confirmed participation.” The last edition was quite challenging having been an election year. Very few teams made. This year’s edition is going to be a big one looking at the confirmations we have so far.”

Kenya Police, Telkom to Defend Titles

Premier League defending Champions Kenya Police and Telkom will defend their titles in the Men and Women’s category respectively. Police will seek to retain their title by defeating a host of other Premier League compatriots Parkroad, Parklands, Strathmore, USIU-A, hosts Nakuru among others. This years edition has also attracted secondary schools with confirmations from K.S.S.A heavy weights Upper Hill and Musingu School.

In the Women’s category, Telkom will face stiff competition from perennial rivals in the premier league Strathmore, USIU-A and Sliders.  Newbies DFG Wolverines, Nakuru and Kabarak University will also be seeking to make an indelible mark against the big sides.
