Tokyo Olympics African hockey qualifiers fixtures released

The African Hockey Road to Tokyo 2020 fixtures have been released by the African Hockey Federation with the continental showpiece scheduled to be played in Stellenbosch, South Africa from 12-18 August, 2019.

The Kenyan men’s Hockey National team has been seeded in Group A with neighbors Uganda, Nigeria and hosts South Africa while Group B consists of Ghana, Namibia, Egypt and Zimbabwe.

The Kenyan men will play their opening match against East Africa counterparts Uganda in the first day of the championship and play South Africa on August 14 and finish their preliminary matches against Nigeria on August 15.

On the other side, the Kenyan women’s Hockey national team will have a hefty task as they take on South Africa in their first group match and play Nigeria in their last preliminary match. Kenya has been seeded alongside Nigeria and hosts South Africa in Group A while neighbor Uganda are seeded with Ghana, Zimbabwe and Namibia in Group B.

August 12: Kenya vs Uganda (12:00), Ghana vs Namibia (14:00), Egypt vs Zimbabwe (16:00), South Africa vs Nigeria (20:00)

August 13: Zimbabwe vs Namibia (16:00), Ghana vs Egypt (18:00)

August 14: Nigeria vs Uganda (18:00), Kenya vs South Africa (20:00)

August 15: Egypt vs Namibia (10:00), Zimbabwe vs Ghana (12:00), Nigeria vs Kenya (18:00), South Africa vs Uganda (20:00)


August 12: Ghana vs Zimbabwe (08:00), Namibia vs Uganda (10:00), South Africa vs Nigeria (18:00)

August 13: Kenya vs South Africa (20:00)

August 14: Namibia vs Ghana (14:00), Zimbabwe vs Uganda (16:00)
