Three matches in the offing as the men’s Premier League title chase tightens up

Three matches will be played this weekend at the City Park stadium as the Kenya Hockey Union men’s Premier League title chase tightens up with two title favorites Butali Warriors and Kenya Police facing an uphill battle.

League leaders Butali Warriors have a tough task as they face Parklands Sports Club on Saturday, the Parklands-based side has been one of the most unpredictable sides in the league since their promotion in 2014. Butali will match on to face Park Road Badgers on Sunday as they seek to extend their good run in the league.

Defending champions Kenya Police also have a test as they take on former champions Strathmore University on Sunday. The law-enforcers have only lost one match and are placed second on the league standings with only three points behind the leaders.

Super League men (SLM)

Fans and hockey lovers will also be treated to five SLM matches this weekend as coastal-based outfit Mvita take on Technical University of Kenya (TUK) on Saturday and Multimedia University on Sunday as they eye to take up the second place position on the league standings.

Another coastal-based outfit Mombasa Sports Club (MSC) will be having a tough task as they face 2017 National League champions Wazalendo Masters on Saturday and Kenyatta University Vultures on Sunday.
