Its March again and the hockey plans never stop. The first day of March marked the end of the Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) Nairobi conference. The official communication is yet to be made about the national’s qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the  University of Nairobi together with Strathmore Univeristy will playing host to the 2020 KUSA women championships which are scheduled for March 6-8, 2020.  This is in regard to honoring and celebrating women and women athletes during this month.

In the recent matches, United States International University (USIU-A) men had Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Wildcats bow to them in a two-one encounter. JKUAT went ahead in teir next match against St Paul’s University taking maximum points home in a three-goal thriller that ended 2-1.  In another fixture, USIU-A men yet again won 2-0 against Daystar Falcons cementing the fate of the season.

In the women’s fixture, the hungry to score USIU-A womens failed to pin down JKUAT ladies with the match ending in a barren draw. Mount Kenya University women won narrowly against Daystar in a one nil encounter.

As teams await the final standings and the KUSA Nationals qualifiers, focus is shifted to other hockey plans with KUSA women championships being on top of the list. A great season it has been, spectacular play from various teams and great display of enthusiasm.
