Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) men's Premier League side Parklands Sports Club (PSC) will be hosting the first annual PSC tournament in preparation for the 2019 KHU season that is set to kick off on March 2, 2019. The Kenya Hockey Union sanctioned pre-season tournament that will be played on 23rd and 24th February will feature 20 men's teams that participate in the respective KHU leagues (Premier League, Super League and National League). It has been a successful day for the Kenyan teams in the ongoing Targeted Assistant Program (TAP) East Africa Hockey 5's tournament where Kenya is being represented by two teams each in the boys and girls categories at the City Park Stadium. Kenyan girls Tausi and Mbuni opened the tournament in a face off that saw Mbuni beat their counterparts 2-1. In the boys category, the Kenyan boys Chui and Simba played to a 2-2 draw in the first boys match. Kenya Simba went ahead to beat Uganda 7-3 while Kenya Chui beat Uganda 4-3. The Uganda Hockey Association (UHA) has named the travelling squad and delegates that will represent the country in the Targeted Assistant Program (TAP) Hockey 5's East Africa Tournament that will be played on the 16th and 17th February 2019 in Nairobi. According to the African Hockey Federation, along with the tournament, training programs will take place for coaches and officials from the East African region under the new three-year TAP project. The Kenya Hockey Union has named the two squads ahead of the Targeted Assistant Program (TAP) Hockey 5's East Africa Tournament scheduled to be played on the 16th and 17th February 2019 in Nairobi. The TAP Hockey 5's tournament will be played by teams from Kenya and Uganda with Kenya registering two teams in the men and women categories.
Newly promoted Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) women's Premier League side Lakers are in search of league supremacy as they feature in the top tier for the first time. The Kisumu-based side join Kenyatta University Titans in promotion to the top tier after a successful debut in the 2018 KHU women's Super League. According to Linah Barasa the Lakers' captain, they are ready for their debut in the Premier League and will also be expecting a good season.
