Action in the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Women’s Premier League starts in earnest, with JKUAT set to face USIU-A Spartans on Friday January 19, 2018 at the City Park Stadium.
With the Premier League title already scooped by Telkom, USIU are on the hunt for the best possible finish in the table standings. The team is currently fourth overall with 34 points but have played four games less than second placed Strathmore University and three less than Chase Amira who sit third.
The Spartans posted a 2-0 win over JKUAT in the first leg and victory today will take them to third place at the expense of Amira. The team has not been in action since 26th November 2017 when they lost 6-0 to league leaders Telkom, a result that scrapped off their eleven-match unbeaten run.
JKUAT on their part are also focused on a win especially after registering defeats in all three of their last fixtures. They are currently sixth on the log joint on 25 points with fifth placed Sliders who have played a game more.
The Sammy Oungo coached side has managed 20 goals to their name so far while conceding 25 in the process.
