The Kenya Hockey Union men’s Premier League defending champions Kenya Police will be seeking to tighten up the title chase as they face Nairobi Sikh Union on Sunday at the City Park Stadium.
The law enforcers are only three points behind league leaders Butali Warriors having played two matches less. According to Fred Masibo the Kenya Police coach, he believes it will be a tough match and reiterated that his focus is on the first place finish.
“Playing teams that want to get off the relegation zone is very tricky and that’s why our focus as a team at the moment is on Sikh Union and Nakuru. We want to take on the matches one at a time carefully as we move towards getting the ultimate price,” said Masibo.
In another men’s Premier League match, third placed Green Sharks will be having an uphill battle as they take on relegation threatened side United States International University – Africa (USIU-A). Green Sharks who are level on points with Strathmore University and Wazalendo have to get maximum points from the match to retain the third position on the league standings. On the other hand, Strathmore University will also be seeking to displace Green Sharks at the third position as they face on form Parklands Sports Club who have only lost one in their last six matches.
In the men’s Super League, two teams seeking a promotion place to the Premier League will be facing a tight battle.
