Kenya to hold Maiden Olympic Day Celebrations

On 23 June the world celebrates Olympic Day - an annual occasion which is much more than just a sports event. It is a day for the world to get active, learn about Olympic values and discover new sports. Last year, FIH reached out to National Associations and Continental Federations in a bid to synchronize the Olympic day activities for Hockey across the world. The efforts yielded massive global activity with a total of 11 African countries participating, namely: Botswana, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe. The woes of the Strathmore University Gladiators continued this weekend as they were handed another defeat. The loss to the Nakuru Club on the weekend of the 9th of June was dismissed as a possibility, considering the challenges of the away grounds.
